On Alert for God’s New Thing

“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19 ESV

We serve a God who specializes in making all things new. When things get old and we are ready for a change, this promise is like cold water to a weary soul.

It encourages us, though it may seem there is no way out of our situation, that God already has a plan in motion. He is challenging us in faith to be on the lookout for what He is doing.

Since His ways are not our ways, how God ushers out the old and brings in the new is above our pay grade, so we need to be alert to recognize and welcome the new thing when it comes.
