PRAYING FOR ISRAEL

Psalm 122:6-7  Lord, in obedience of faith I/we “pray for the peace of Jerusalem; may they be secure (and prosper) who love you [Jerusalem].  Peace be within your walls, security (and prosperity) within your towers.”  (ESV)

Isaiah 49:16  Lord you have “engraved Israel on the palms of [your] hands and [her] walls are continually before [you].”

Isaiah 62:6-7  On Jerusalem’s walls you have promised to post watchmen and declared: “they will never be silent day or night. –  You who call on the LORD, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.” NIV

PRAYERS FOR ISRAEL’S SALVATION

Romans 10:1  “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for [Israel] is, that they might be saved.” (ESV)

Lord, your word says that the minds of those who do not know you have been hardened and made dull and . . .

2 Corinthians 4:3-4  The “gospel is veiled . . . to those who are perishing.  The God of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”  (ESV)

2 Corinthians 3:14-16  “Their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away.  Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.” (NIV)

Therefore Heavenly Father, cause the Jewish people to turn to Jesus.  Lift the veil to remove the spiritual blindness from their minds, thoughts, mental perceptions and heart disposition!

2 Corinthians 4:6  “Let light shine out of darkness” into the hearts of the Jewish people “to give them the light of the knowledge of the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.” (ESV & NLT)

2 Chronicles 7:14  I/we pray the day will come when your “people, who are called by your name, will humble themselves and pray and seek your face and turn from their wicked ways, then you will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (NIV)

Psalm 81:13-14  “If [your] people would only listen to [you], if Israel would only follow [your] ways, how quickly [you] would subdue their enemies and turn [your] hand against their foes!” (NIV)

May you hasten that day when you reveal to Israel what Jesus did for them on the cross.

Zechariah 12:9-10   (Whole Chapter a Great Declaration)  Lord you have declared that “On that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that attack Jerusalem. And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.” (NIV)

Isaiah 62:1-5  1 “For Zion’s sake I not keep silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake I not be quiet, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a burning torch.  2 The nations shall see your righteousness, and all the kings your glory, and you shall be called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will give.  3 You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.  4 You shall no more be termed Forsaken, and your land shall no more be termed Desolate, but you shall be called My Delight Is in her, and your land Married; for the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married.   5 For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your sons marry you, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.” (ESV)

Isaiah 62:11-12  “Behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the earth: Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your salvation comes; behold, His reward is with Him, and His recompense before Him.’ And they shall be called The Holy People, The Redeemed of the Lord; and you shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.” (ESV)

PRAYERS FOR ISRAEL’S PROTECTION

Father I/we pray for your blessing on Israel.  May you deliver them from every evil and danger.  Prevent evil from befalling your chosen, righteous and innocent ones.  Rise up and defend the weak and powerless.

Psalm 129:5-6  “May all who hate Zion be put to shame and turned backward.  Let them be like the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up.” (ESV)

Psalm 33:10-11  “The LORD frustrates the plans of the nations (with regard to Israel) and thwarts all their schemes.  But the LORD’s plans stand firm forever; His intentions can never be shaken.”  (NLT)

Psalm 55:1-3, 9, 11, 23  1 “Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea;  2 hear me and answer me.  My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught  3 because of what my enemy is saying, because of the threats of the wicked.  9 Lord, confuse the wicked, confound their words, for I see violence and strife in the city.  11 Destructive forces are at work in the city, threats and lies never leave its streets.  23 But you, God, will bring down the wicked into the pit of decay, the bloodthirsty and deceitful will not live out half their days.  But as for me, I trust in You.”  (NIV)

Psalm 140:8  “Do not let evil people have their way.”  (NLT)

Psalm 10:2  “Let the wicked be caught in the evil they plan for others.” (NLT)

Break the arms of the wicked and cut off the source of their power!

Psalm 37:17  “For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous.” (ESV)

Therefore Lord, cut off the source of their power and strength, their communication, their organizational connections, their financing, their intelligence, their resources and armaments.  Bring their plans to naught in the mighty name of Jesus!

As in days of old send a spirit of panic into the camp of every terrorist organization including Hezbollah, Al Nusra Front, Al Qaeda, ISIS and Hamas – route the enemy – let them turn on themselves and flee seven ways. (Deuteronomy 28:7, I Samuel 14:15 – Philistines, & 2 Kings 7:6 – Arameans)

Isaiah 59:19b  “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.” (KJV)

Protect Israel from the evil one and keep them safe by the power of the name of Jesus. (John 17:11-12, 15)

Psalm 74: 2, 10-11, 18-23  2  “Remember the nation you purchased long ago, the people of your inheritance, whom you redeemed- Mount Zion, where you dwelt.  10  How long will the enemy mock you, God?  Will the foe revile your name forever?   11  Why do you hold back your hand, your right hand?  Take it from the folds of your garment and destroy them!  18  Remember how the enemy has mocked you, Lord, how foolish people have reviled your name.   19  Do not hand over the life of your dove to wild beasts; do not forget the lives of your afflicted people forever.   20  Have regard for your covenant, because haunts of violence fill the dark places of the land.   21  Do not let the oppressed retreat in disgrace; may the poor and needy praise your name.   22  Rise up, O God, and defend your cause; remember how fools mock you all day long.   23  Do not ignore the clamor of your adversaries, the uproar of your enemies, which rises continually.” (NIV)

Psalm 140:1-13  1 “Rescue [Israel], Lord, from evildoers; protect [them] from the violent,  2 who devise evil plans in their hearts and stir up war every day.  3 They make their tongues as sharp as a serpent’s; the poison of vipers is on their lips.  4 Keep [Israel] safe, Lord, from the hands of the wicked; protect [them] from the violent, who devise ways to trip [their] feet.  5 The arrogant have hidden a snare for [them]; they have spread out the cords of their net and have set traps for [them] along [their] path.”  6 Let Israel “say to the Lord, ‘You are my God.’ Hear, Lord, my cry for mercy.  7 Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer, shield my head in the day of battle.  8 Do not grant the wicked their desires, Lord; do not let their plans succeed.  9 Those who surround [Israel] proudly rear their heads; may the mischief of their lips engulf them.  10 May burning coals fall on them; may they be thrown into the fire, into miry pits, never to rise.  11 May slanderers not be established in the land; may disaster hunt down the violent.  12 I know that the Lord secures justice for the poor and upholds the cause of the needy.  13 Surely the righteous will praise your name, and the upright will live in your presence.”  (NIV)

SPECIAL PRAYER POINTS

Take time now to wait upon the Lord and respond to the leading of the Holy Spirit as to how you should pray more specific prayers for Current Events and Challenges facing Israel.

Examples:

ACCESSS TO THE TEMPLE MOUNT

Lord according to your Word, let your people, Jews and Christians, have access to go up to the Temple Mount to worship you there and learn of your ways so that they may walk in your paths.

Isaiah 2:3  Lord  “Come, let us (Jew & Christian) go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

HARMONY BETWEEN MESSIANIC & PALESTINIAN BELIEVERS

Jesus we claim your promise that…

Ephesians 2:14-22  14 “For he himself is our peace, who has made us both (Jewish & Gentile Believer) one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility  15 by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace,  16 and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility.  17 And he came and preached peace to [those] who were far off and peace to those who were near.

18 For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.  19 So then [they] are no longer strangers and aliens, but [they] are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,  20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,  21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.  22 In him [they] also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.” (ESV)

ALIYA RESTRICTIONS/LIMITATIONS FOR CHRISTIANS LIFTED

Father I pray that those in the Ministry of the Interior/Foreign Affairs (Shas party people) who are harassing Jewish Christians who are applying for citizenship and work permits would either lift those restrictions or be replaced by those who will. You have promised that

Jeremiah 32:37  “I will certainly bring my people back again from all the countries where I will scatter them in my fury. I will bring them back to this very city and let them live in peace and safety.” (NLT)

LOVE FOR THE STRANGER

Lord I pray for the refugees in the land, specifically the Eritreans and Sudanese.  Touch the heart of the Jewish people and government to have compassion those who are strangers and exiles in their land.  Cause them to remember that they were once strangers in a foreign land as well.

Exodus 22:21  “Do not mistreat or oppress a foreigner, for you were foreigners in Egypt.”

Leviticus 19:33-34  “When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them.  The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.” (NIV)

Ezekiel 47:22-23 “’You are to allot … an inheritance for yourselves and for the foreigners residing among you and who have children. You are to consider them as native-born Israelites; along with you they are to be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel. In whatever tribe a foreigner resides, there you are to give them their inheritance,’ declares the Sovereign LORD.” (NIV)
