“Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine.” Psalm 33:18-19 ESV
It is a great comfort, and a wonder, the way in which the Lord watches over His children, to both protect us from danger and provide for us in times of lack.
What could be more reassuring than knowing we serve a God who has every hair on our heads numbered and even knows when a sparrow falls to the ground? The knowledge of God’s watch care over us is like a protective shield of faith around our lives, quenching all the fiery darts and plans of the enemy to do us harm.
Only heaven will reveal the countless times, often behind the scenes and unbeknownst to us, the Lord has supernaturally intervened on our behalf in order to protect and preserve our lives. It gives us tremendous confidence as we make our plans and go about our day.
Since God’s past faithfulness is a reliable predictor of His future care, we can therefore rest assured that no matter what seen or unforeseen dangers lurk out there, He has us covered.
“For the LORD will go before you, the God of Israel will be your rear guard.” – Isaiah 52:12 NIV
