Praying God’s Promises

January 14th, 2019 · by Tom Stuart · Growth & Development, Overcoming, Prayer, Uncategorized

“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.”  – 2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV

Nothing bolsters our confidence in God more than using His promises as the basis for our prayers.

The key of course is to search the Bible for a promise that addresses a specific need or burden we are carrying.

We know we’ve found it when the verse seems to literally leap off the page in grabbing our attention and we cry ” Yes!”

With that we speak forth the verse in a prayer of declaration and end it with an “Amen!” . . . “to the glory of God!”
