“You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains
and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will
clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:12 NIV
This
promise, spoken over the Jews living in captivity, is a classic offer of hope
to all who find themselves yearning for deliverance from oppressive situations.
God
in His mercy wants to encourage us that this too shall pass and better days are
coming, when we “will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to
pasture.” Malachi 4:2 NLT
If that image isn’t a day brightener, what about this? – The opening scene from “The Sound of Music” with Maria jubilantly singing “The hills are alive, with the sound of music . . .”
